We are seeking a federal construction QCM. Must have federal construction experience. 5 years minimum. VA experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Quality Control (QC) plans for federal construction projects.
- Oversee daily QC operations, including inspections, testing, and documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and contractors to identify potential quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Review and approve all construction materials, methods, and procedures to ensure adherence to contract documents and quality standards.
- Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct and document inspections of construction activities, materials, and equipment to verify compliance with specifications, safety requirements, and industry standards.
- Manage subcontractor performance and inspect their work to ensure conformity to federal quality standards.
- Ensure that required testing is conducted (e.g., materials testing, weld inspections, concrete testing) and results are documented.
- Coordinate and supervise third-party inspectors, laboratory testing, and certification activities as needed.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Monitor adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines, including OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Maintain a thorough record-keeping system, documenting inspection reports, test results, non-conformance issues, and corrective actions.
- Prepare regular QC reports for project stakeholders, including government agencies, project managers, and senior leadership.
- Ensure that any non-compliance issues are immediately addressed and resolved to avoid project delays or penalties.
- Team Coordination and Training:
- Provide leadership and training to field personnel, subcontractors, and staff on QC processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement on all job sites.
- Conduct regular meetings with project teams to review quality control issues, progress, and potential improvements.
- Quality Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices for federal construction projects.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate the risk of rework and improve the overall quality and efficiency of construction processes.
- Review and analyze completed projects for lessons learned and integrate findings into future projects.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction quality control management, with at least 2 years on federal construction projects.
- Experience working with federal construction contracts, including familiarity with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and other government contract specifications.
- Certifications:
- Certified Quality Control Manager (CQM) for Federal Construction Projects (preferred).
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification (required).
- Additional certifications in construction quality or project management (e.g., PMP, LEED) are a plus.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, quality control systems, and applicable federal and industry standards.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with government agencies, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel to various project sites as required.
- Must be able to pass background checks and security clearances required for federal projects.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate vehicles on federal job sites

Pay: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
